Brandi Z. Murrain specializes in complex civil litigation across both state and federal courts, with an emphasis on healthcare. She represents individuals and companies in False Claims Act litigation, commercial disputes, RICO, and white-collar criminal cases. Brandi is proficient in guiding clients through government investigations, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement audits and appeals, Board investigations, and peer-review assessments. She offers legal counsel and supports internal investigations to ensure compliance and mitigate the risk of future investigations. Brandi’s expertise extends to privacy matters, including HIPAA compliance and guiding clients through cybersecurity incidents, as well as subsequent investigations and litigation. Brandi frequently defends healthcare providers and practices who treat patients involved in personal injury lawsuits. Beyond healthcare, Brandi advises employers navigating labor and employment investigations and litigation.
Before joining Chilivis Grubman, Brandi handled a variety of legal matters including toxic and mass torts, product liability, and employment law. She offers distinguished litigation expertise honed through high-stakes trials and complex legal proceedings. Her career began as a prosecutor in Cook County, where she led over sixty bench trials and seven jury trials. Brandi also served as a Judicial Extern in the Northern District of Illinois.
