Maiysha Rashad is a government affairs and regulatory attorney whose practice focuses on land use, zoning, licensing, and regulatory compliance. She advises clients on navigating complex local and state regulatory frameworks, resolving zoning and land use challenges, securing land use approvals, obtaining required permits and licenses, and addressing compliance and enforcement matters for residential, commercial, and hospitality developments throughout metropolitan Atlanta.
Maiysha regularly represents clients before planning commissions, zoning boards, ethics boards, and other governmental and regulatory bodies. She also serves as General Counsel to the DeKalb County Ethics Board and the Henry County Ethics Board, advising on ethics laws, regulatory compliance, investigations, and administrative procedures.
In addition to her regulatory practice, Maiysha advises clients in the entertainment industry on film and television production, artist management, employment agreements, and other entertainment-related legal matters. While in law school, she was selected as a legal intern for NBA Entertainment, the production arm of the National Basketball Association.
Maiysha previously served as a Senior Assistant City Attorney with the City of Atlanta, where she defended the City in litigation at both the state and federal levels and provided guidance to City Council members, municipal departments, and boards on litigation strategy, regulatory compliance, employment matters, and risk management. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Fulton County, prosecuting high-volume felony and misdemeanor cases and earning recognition as Fulton County Prosecutor of the Year (Juvenile Court Division).
She earned her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and served as a Judicial Law Clerk in New York Supreme Court following graduation. A native of Northern California, Maiysha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from San Francisco State University.
