Local Government Representation

The Firm’s Local Government practice is comprised of attorneys with extensive experience and expertise representing cities, counties, and quasi-public entities, including serving as City Attorney. Representing a local government is an honor and allows us to play our part in public service.

This practice involves a broad range of legal issues affecting cities, counties, and other local government entities, ranging from land use, zoning, public safety, employment, property taxes, drafting local ordinances and regulations, contracts, ethics laws, economic development, public records laws, and litigation on behalf of the government entity, just to name a few.

Our attorneys understand that local elected officials and government employees often must make difficult decisions quickly and do so in the eye of the public. We pride ourselves in providing thorough, thoughtful advice that public servants can use to best serve the public and knowing that government demands are often unique. Local governments, including the problems that they face and initiatives they pursue, require experienced counsel who can successfully understand and appreciate the public and political environment and counsel clients accordingly.
